I’Anson Celebrates Latest Company Veteran
I’Anson, one of the UK’s leading, independent, family-owned animals feeds businesses, has honoured one of its employees this week for their exceptional long service to the company.
61-year-old Martin Elsworth has worked at the Masham-based firm for 25 years and joins an ever-growing number of long servers at the company. Since joining in April 1992, Bedale-born Martin has worked in various roles across the business. Initially, Martin rotated between a number of positions within the mill before settling in the blending control room, which is responsible for weighing and mixing of the ingredients for the animal feed, where he has worked for the last 18 years.
When asked about his time at I’Anson, Martin said: “It says a lot about the company when so many members of staff have spent such a long time here. This is a real family place; we all work hard for each other and to provide customers with a top quality product.”
On any stand out moments from his time at the company, Martin said: “Receiving the Queen’s Award in 2008 was a particular highlight for me and showcases how hard we work on maintaining and further developing our high standards. Over the whole 25 years the company has been absolutely brilliant – I’ve loved every second.”
The company currently employs 72 people and prides itself on its company culture and family-working ethic. This has led to impressive staff retention figures, with the entire staff clocking up over 1,000 years of service – equating to an average of 14 years each. Less than a year ago, three members of staff celebrated 30 years at the company, with another two passing the 25-year mark.
Chris I’Anson, Managing Director, said: “It’s a source of huge pride for us to see yet another member of staff reach such an impressive milestone at the company. We strive to provide an engaging, secure and, above all, enjoyable place to work for all of our team.
“We’re a company built on traditional values and we work hard to maintain these, both in terms of our company ethos and the emphasis we place on customer happiness. This, coupled with our innovative approach to product development, means we’re in a fantastic place for a family business that’s been going for many generations.”
Now into its second century of business, I’Anson is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of animal feedstuffs and has been supplying farmers in Yorkshire and across the country since 1900. The business is well regarded for its high quality product range and commitment to outstanding customer service.
In 2008, the firm was awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category in recognition of its development of the revolutionary quick-soaking sugar beet feed Speedi-Beet, which has become a market leader in the demanding equine feed sector. Speedi-Beet is now exported to 26 countries, including Australia, the USA, and Canada, along with many across the Middle East and Europe.
I’Anson is one of the UK’s most successful specialist suppliers of farm feeds for sheep, dairy and beef cattle as well as micronized ingredients.
