Export Success For I’Anson Brothers Ltd
Yorkshire animal feed puts a little Wensleydale in Halloumi with new export contract.
I’Anson Brothers Ltd, one of the UK’s leading, family-owned feed businesses has commenced the export of animal feed to Cyprus in what is hoped will be an ongoing supply agreement.
Based in Masham in North Yorkshire, the business will supply Cyprus-based RPK Topfeed Solutions with more than 200 tonnes of animal feed by the end of this year. It will be used by farmers on the island to feed flocks of milking sheep, with most of the production being used for the world famous cheese Haloumi.
The contract is the largest farm feeds export order in I’Anson Brothers’ 116 year history and marks a breakthrough into new markets overseas.
Although the majority of I’Anson animal feed is sold in the UK, the wider business is no stranger to exporting under its British Horse Feeds division with its highly regarded Speedi-Beet product shipped to 38 countries worldwide from Australia to the United States.
I’Anson Brothers chairman and managing director, Chris I’Anson, said:
“This export order came about through our personal contacts within the industry and our reputation for producing animal feeds of the highest quality. It marks another step in the continuing development of the business and we hope it will lead to further orders.
“We are a fourth-generation family business, based in Masham for more than 100 years and we are determined to remain at the forefront of the industry. Although our main focus is on servicing our clients in the domestic market we are always looking to identify new market opportunities.”
I’Anson Brothers is one of the UK’s most successful specialist suppliers of farm feeds for sheep, dairy and beef cattle as well as micronized ingredients. The company employs 72 people at its head office and mill in Masham North Yorkshire.
