Philip Stockill joined I’Anson in 2015. He has worked in the animal feed industry for 30 years, holding a number of technical/nutrition and other roles giving him a wealth of experience in the feeding of livestock and the production of animal feed. Philip also has a degree in Animal Nutrition from Newcastle University.
His grandfather had a dairy farm on the edge of the North York Moors and Philip spent school and college holidays working with his uncle transporting livestock to and from farms, markets and abattoirs. It was this experience that first interested Philip in finding out how nutrition and animal feed in particular helped make animals grow and produce milk. Philip has known the I’Anson family for 30 years, both as a supplier and customer, and so the opportunity to work in a family business was too good to turn down.
A usual day for Philip involves formulating rations for customers, fielding enquiries from the sales team and clients, and answering technical queries. For Philip, the most rewarding parts of his job, he says, are working in a family business where everyone understands farming, and supplying customers with the best possible products.
Outside of work, Philip enjoys playing most sports, playing table tennis and as time allows, watching as much sport as possible, especially football as he is a big Sheffield Wednesday supporter and, as a true Yorkshireman, the county cricket team.
